Hubing, Mike (1848 – 19 Jul 1916)
Mike Hubing died
suddenly while sitting in a chair at his home in Athens on Wednesday of last
week. Mr. Hubing was a former resident of Clark County, having lived in the town
of Grant for about 40 years. He and his wife moved to Athens about three years
ago as four of their sons lived there. Deceased was born in Belgium, Ozaukee
County, Wisconsin, in 1848 and was married to Margaret Klein. They came to Clark
County many years ago and built up one of the finest farms in the lower end of
the county. He was a fine man and one who held the very highest respect of
everybody in this vicinity and his sudden death will be a severe shock to all
his old friends here. Mr. Hubing is survived by his wife and seven children:
John of Loyal, Frank, George, Emil and Ernest and Mrs. John Wojchichowski of
Athens and Mrs. George Beaver of Granton.
