Boon, James M. (4 NOV 1845 – 23 Jul 1916)
James M. Boon died on Sunday at
his home in town Weston after an illness of many months’ duration and in his
passing another of the earlier settlers of lower Clark County has gone to his
reward. Mr. Boon came to Clark County 46 years ago and during that time had all
the varied experiences of pioneer and wood life before hewing a home out of the
woods and settling down to farming. He was born in Ireland on Nov. 4, 1845, and
came to this county from Canada. He was married to Louise Dodge and is survived
by his widow and three sons.
Mr. Boon was a man of ability and high
integrity and was industrious at all times and honorable in his business
dealings and as a result his long sickness and death was a matter of very
sincere regret to all his numerous friends.
He was laid to rest on
Tuesday. Services being conducted at the Christie church and interment being
made in the Neillsville Cemetery,
