August 1937 - 24 December 2013)
Janice K. Phillips, 76, formerly of
Plymouth, passed away Tuesday afternoon Dec. 24, 2013 at Sheboygan Senior Center
where she had been a resident for the past four months.
Janice was born
Aug. 1, 1937, in Beaver Township, Clark County, a daughter of the late James A.
and Verona L. (Buzza) Smith. She attended Loyal Grade Schools and graduated from
Loyal High School in 1956. She was employed at Jo0hnsonville Food Company in
Johnsonville for nine years. Janice was a member of Faith United Methodist
Church in Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed “garage sales” and watching sporting
events for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her six
children, Kirk Phillips of Plymouth, Verona (Jeff) Lampe of Sheboygan, Tammy
(Roland) Buchanan of Sheboygan, David (Rhonda) Phillips of White pigeon, MI,
Betsy Wine of Sheboygan and Timothy “Peach” Phillips of Hermosa Beach, CA;
grandchildren, Nic, Jon (Veronica), Patti (Jesse), Kevin (friend Stacy), Ben
(Sarah), Jake, Schuyler “Jim”, Jeremy (Meredith), Michelle, Justin (friend
Katie), Kaytlin and Eddie; great-grandchildren, Silhouette, Jaxton, Sophie,
Jonah, Jameson, Bethany and Charlotte; two sisters, Joan (Bud) Smith of Loyal
and LaVade (Arden) Carl of Nescopeck, PA. Janice is also survived by nieces,
nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death
by one son, Edward Jr.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Dec.
29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth, with visitation from
noon until the time of services. Rev. Susan Sadfford-Gaul, pastor of Faith
United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, officiated. Cremation followed the
services and inurnment was in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Janice’s name.
