Cpl. Wm. Bartelt of Camp
Roberts, Calif. is spending his furlough here with relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ozanich and Clause Severson of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs.
Lester Schuette and daughter Marian of Unity visited Saturday at the Hugh
Severson home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mrs. Minnie Cox visited at
Plymouth and Waupun on Thursday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. James
Neuenfeldt and daughters of Medford visited relatives here Monday.
Mr.
and Mrs. Wilson Jacobson and sons Alfred and Darwin of Dodgeville visited
relatives and friends here last Thursday enroute to Stanley where they visited
relatives. They returned here on Monday and were accompanied to Barneveld by Wm.
Korupp, who had been visiting here.
Miss Melva Afkend spent Saturday and
Sunday with friends in Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Mead spent the
weekend with their daughters and families at Midlothian, Ill.
Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Neuenfeldt and Gerald and Miss Irene O'Connell visited Sunday at the
James Neuenfeldt home in Medford.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Furlong of
Chicago spent the weekend at the Art Syth home. Mr. and Mrs. Nels Furlong, who
have been visiting here, accompanied them to Chicago. Mrs. Nels Furlong had the
misfortune to sprain her ankle just before they left.
Mr. and Mrs. Erhard
Lindner visited Matt Lindner, who is a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Braun, Sheboygan, spent Sunday
night at the Melvin Alperstett home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horn, Gust Horn,
George Kuester, Norman Horn, Donald Horn, Herbert Horn attended the funeral of
their aunt at Sheboygan on Monday, Sept. 1st.
The Misses Mabel Martins
and Alberta Klinke of Milwaukee spent the Labor Day weekend here with relatives
and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Toburen returned last Thursday from a visit
at the Fred Robbins home in Minneapolis. They also visited relatives and friends
they had not seen in 25 years and attended the Minnesota State Fair.
Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Peterson and daughter of Detroit, Mich, and Mrs. Effie Andrews
of Eldorado, Ark. Called on relatives here Saturday. Mrs. Andrews, who has been
spending the summer with her brother Clarence Dunn in Neillsville, and her
sister-in-laws, Mrs. E.T. Burch, Mrs. Eva Andrews and Mrs. Hattie Shanks, left
for Detroit with the Petersons, where they will visit before returning to
Eldorado.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alperstett and Carol and Connie were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Christopherson at Whitehall on Sunday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Doore of Cleveland, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiegman and Miss
Viola Kozik of Chicago are visitors at the Erhard Lindner home.
Mr. and
Mrs. George Seliskar and daughter spent over Labor Day with Mrs. Seliskar's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Chermigory? at Eveleth, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Abel and daughter Janice and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Vollrath and son returned from
a trip into Mexico and the west, on Saturday.
Miss Geraldine Syth, Victor
Weber and Jake Curley of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Leona
Syth and with Mrs. Anna Weber.
Mrs. Clara Boedeker, Oakfield, and Mrs.
Otto Dehn of Oshkosh are visiting at the Bernard Nowobielski home over the Labor
Day weekend.
Mrs. Emogene Keueres, Patrick and Peter, who have been
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Opdycke, returned to their home in
Chicago on Tuesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. A.L. church and Mr. and
Mrs. R. Benz and son Bruce of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the M.e. Kenyon
home, after spending a three week vacation at their cottage at Lac du Flambeau.
Mrs. Max Schmidt, who spent most of the summer at the Kenyon home, returned to
Milwaukee with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred West of Chicago spent the weekend
at the John Verschay home in Willard.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kohlnhofer spent
the weekend with relatives in Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Poznanski spent
the weekend with theri daughter in Milwaukee.
Miss Joyce Tieman of
Milwaukee spent the weekend here with relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Scherr and Mr. and Mrs. Florian Herrick and daughters visited over Sunday
at the Martin Scherr home in Wausau.
Mrs. Harvey Humke left Friday for
Kentucky where she spent the Labor Day weekend with her husband at Camp
Breckenridge, Ky.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Learman entertained at a 6:00
o'clock dinner at their home last Tuesday in honor of the baptism of their son
James Elmer. Those present were: Rev. Schedler and family, Withee; Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Zillmer, the sponsors, and family, and Mrs. Clara Liebzeit.
Mr.
and Mrs. Matt Nowosel of River Forest, Ill. arrived Saturday and spent the
weekend with her parent's, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smaldone. On Sunday they all
journeyed to Moll Lake where they visited at the Holste cottage on Pine Knoll,
with Mr. and Mrs. Gay Holste and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Meyer, Chicago, friends of
the Nowosel's.
