Corey, Charles A. (2 MAY 1864 -
29 SEP 1952)
Charles A. Corey was born May 2, 1864 at Lowell, Wis., where
he received his education.
On Oct. 19, 1887 he was united in marriage to
Stella An Honey at Watertown. She passed away in 1937.
From early boyhood
on Mr. Corey was employed as a Miller. In 1918 they came to Loyal (Clark Co.,
Wis.) and settled on a farm 5 miles southeast, residing there until 1942, when
he moved to Loyal.
Mr. Corey, who had been a patient for many months at
St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, was brought a week ago to the Rahn home at
Loyal, and passed away there on Monday, Sept. 29, 1952 at 7:30 a.m.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1st at the Oak Hill
Cemetery in Watertown. The Rev. James D. Degolier, pastor of St. Mark's
Episcopal Church, officiated.
Mr. Corey is survived by five daughters,
Mrs. August (Edith) Lemberg, Loyal; Mrs. Chal. (Alice) Perkins, and Miss
Florence Corey, Greenwood; Mrs. Arthur (Sadie) Jacobson and Mrs. Olive Bennett,
Milwaukee; a son, Howard Corey, Greenwood, and three grandchildren.
His
wife, a son, Mervin W. Corey, who passed away Aug. 7, 1952, and a number of
brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
