Bill Andrews of Owen
visited his sisters, Mrs. Albert Shanks and Mrs. E.T. Burch, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Thompson were St. Paul callers
last Thursday.
Mrs. Geo. Caliebe and Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth spent the
weekend at Madison.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger were at Madison last
Thursday where Palmer sold the 200 acre farm for the Pendally Estate.
Mr.
and Mrs. Russell Whiting, Roy Whiting, Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Paul Hemp,
Augusta, visited Mrs. Bert Wilcox on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kind and
Darlene were Marshfield callers Tuesday.
Mrs. Russell Edwards returned
Friday from a trip to Manitowoc and Beaver Dam.
Mr. and Mrs. Mickey
McGraw and daughter of Chicago are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Verschay Jr. at Willard.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Nancy and Mrs.
Minnie Cox spent the weekend in Milwaukee.
Leo Bredesen was taken to
Luther Hospital, Eau Claire on Wednesday of last week following a heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Garth Haeuser left Monday for a two week trip through the west.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peroshek and Mrs. Tony Trunkel and family visited Mr.
Trunkel at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Friday evening.
Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Hoyt of Cottage Grove, Oregon visited with Miss Anna Mathison and Albert
Mathison last week.
Hubert Horn is a patient at Luther Hospital, Eau
Claire. Relatives that called on his Sunday were Mrs. Hubert Horn, Gerald and
Darlene, Mrs. Theo. Braun and June, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Poppe, Mr. and Mrs. Otto
Horn and Art Horn.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leis?, Mrs. Josie Bradich, and Mrs.
Louise Laken of Ottawa, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken visited at the Joe
and John Verschay home Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Meyer of
Minocqua spent Sunday and Monday at the John Verschay home. Nancy Meyer, who
spent the past week visiting here, returned home with them.
Dr. Clark
Kuebler, president of Ripon College, and one of America's ablest speakers, will
deliver a public address in the auditorium of the Congregation Church,
Neillsville, Monday, Oct. 6th at 8:00 p.m. Nor charge at the door.

and Mrs. Jack Jones and Jeannie and Donald, Hay Springs, Neb., Mr. and Mrs.
Thone Karnitz, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz, Lynette and Kerry, Neillsville;
Miss Lois Karnitz, Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn, Wausau; Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Franz, Violet, Floyd, and Ronnie, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn were
Sunday visitors at the Guy Richmond home.
Mrs. Chas. Moen, Mrs. Herman
Haase and Mrs. Henry Goettsch were Marshfield visitors on Wednesday.
Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Schneider and family spent the weekend at Boyd and Ladysmith.
Miss Mae Gasparac is at Wausau, where she is taking the University Extension
course.
Bill Enockson and Allen Schneider, who are taking an extension
course at Wausau, spent the weekend here with their parents.
Mrs. Chal
Perkins spent last week in Loyal helping care for her father, C.A. Corey. Mr.
Corey passed away Monday morning.
Major and Mrs. Elery Poppe of Des
Moines, Iowa spent from Sunday until Friday at the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Geo. Poppe, enroute to Quantico, Virginia.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Neuenfeldt and Irene O'Connell were at Fox Lake Friday and Saturday, and on
Saturday attended the funeral of Mrs. Jos. Furlong of Milwaukee at Fox Lake.
They also visited in Beaver Dam.
Mr. and Mrs. Rex Plummer of Spokane,
Washington left Monday, after visiting at the Otto Schwarze home since
Wednesday, and also visiting other friends around Greenwood. The Plummers moved
to Spokane 8 years ago, after selling their farm on the West Side.
Callers at the Elizabeth Brown home the past week were Jesse Thwing of Redwood
Fall, Minn.; Mrs. Arnold Miller and daughter Rochelle, Mrs. Ben Grambsch and son
Bob of Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and carol visited Saturday
morning at the Carl Keiner home in Eau Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thwing
and Jess were Sunday visitors at the Otis Stowe home near Abbotsford.
La
Crosse, Wis.: Mrs. Mary Humke, Greenwood, has enrolled at the Wis. State
College, La Crosse for her academic year. Mrs. Humke is taking courses in the
Elementary division.
Mr. and Mrs. Chet Stejeck and Sherry, Marshfield;
Miss Anna Neuenfeldt, Chicago, visited with the Wm. Neuenfeldt family Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Veuden, Mrs. Carrie Odegard, Mt. Horeb; Miss Florinda
Ulsrud, Woodford, spent Monday night at the tom Erickson home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Kavanaugh and Kay, Dick Thompson and Dr. H. Weiher attended the
football game at Madison on Saturday.
Mrs. Lawrence Cox received word of
the death of her Uncle John Schmoll at Merced, Calif. on Thursday, Sept. 18,
1952. Mr. Schmoll is survived by a daughter, Irma, and two sons, Joe and Louie,
all of California. Mrs. Schmoll passed away in 1945.
Mr. and Mrs.
Frederick Cota and Bruce of Pittsville spent the weekend at the home of Mrs.
Christ Keiner.
Mr. and Mrs. James Neuenfeldt and daughters spent Sunday
where with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Missling spent Sunday afternoon at
the Bert Brown home. Little Breda Brown accompanied them home for a visit.
Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Mrs. Dick Thompson and Patti were Marshfield callers
Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gruenke and son of Wausau spent Sunday at the
Sylvester Hinker home.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Adler, Humbird spend Sunday
at the Chas. Shefchik home here. The ladies are sisters.
Miss Mary Ann
Urbanz of Stout Institute of Menomonie has been visiting at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Urbanz, Willard, over the weekend.
Mrs. M.E.
Kenyon, Mrs. Geo. Humke accompanied Mrs. Harvey Humke by car to Camp
Breckenridge, Ky., where he husband Pvt. Harvey Humke is in service. Mrs. Kenyon
and Mrs. G. Humke returned via train to Greenwood on Tuesday.
