Annen, Caroline A. (11 AUG 1941 - 1 JAN 2014)

Caroline A. Annen, 72, Barrington, Ill., formerly of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington. A memorial visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, Ill. Interment will be private.

Caroline Ann Denk was born on Aug. 11, 1941, in Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1959. She was an avid bingo and cribbage player. Caroline enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, and her flower garden. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events at Crystal Lake South, Crystal Lake Central and Prairie Ridge high schools, and Hanna Beardsley Middle School.

Caroline is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas, whom she married on Aug. 12, 1961; her children, Sheri (Matthew) Turk, James Annen, Jill Annen, Scott (Tracey) Annen, and Stacey Annen; and her grandchildren, Joshua and Benjamin Turk, and Bradley, Jennifer, Luke, Jessica, Olivia, and Paige Annen.

She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Annen; her parents, Gerald and Anna Denk; a brother, Allen Denk; and a sister, Rosemary (Denk) Barr.
