Allbaugh, George Everett (4 November 1886 - 26 August 1971)

Funeral services for George Everett Allbaugh, 84, of Neillsville, who died August 26, were held Monday, August 30, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melvin Nickel officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George Allbaugh, the son of Adam and Mary Ellen (Parsons) Allbaugh, was born November 4, 1886, in Bloom City. He was educated there and in Clark County, coming here with his parents in 1901; the Allbaugh family, located on a farm in the Town of Fremont. His marriage to the former Ruth Carter took place March 28, 1917, in the Town of Washburn. The couple farmed in the Town of Washburn until three years ago, when they retired and moved to Neillsville. Mr. Allbaugh was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a foster daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Kalsow, of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Jack Urban, Albert Lincoln, George Gorbet, Walter Trachte, Bernard Kuhn and Stanley Kosmosky. Mrs. Sarah Smigelski sang “Beyond the sunset” and “No Night There.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Iris Musil.

Those from out of town who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. George Spangler, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Spangler, and Mrs. Lula M. Allbaugh, all of Richland Center, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dary and Mrs. Lillie Bender of Yuba, Harold Allbaugh of Cherokee, Ia., Mrs. Anna L. Allbaugh of Thurston, Nebr., Mrs. Minnie Groves of Viroqua, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Franzka of Appleton, and Mrs. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer and Mrs. Chris Feutz of Granton.
