Neillsville Area (8 January 2014)
Christmas Eve guests at the Richard and Patricia Schleifer home were Christy
and Gary Anding and their daughters; Joe Goeng; Clarissa and Ricky Rochester and
daughters; Duane Bieneck, and Ellen Stanley, all of Neillsville; Cheryl Ann and
Mark Lavey and family, Farmington, MN; and Carla Jo and Mitch Schneider and
daughter, Green Bay. The Schleifer family wished Happy Holidays to all.
Richard Schleifer, Clarissa Rochester and daughters attended a Christmas
gathering in Melrose at the Russell Schleifer home. Guests were Darlene and
Wayne Offeldt; Todd Gilbertson and daughter; Luke Schleifer and friend; and
Traci Grinde.
It was birthday time at the Dan and Carrie Christie home in
Black River Falls when the birthdays of Kevin, Lori and Dan Christie were
celebrated at a party held in their honor. Attending from Pewaukee were Kathy
Hyslop and Jennifer Barker and sons, Tommy, Morgan and Will. Also attending was:
Jim and Mary Christie, Hatfield; Kevin Christie, Minneapolis, MN; and Harvey and
Amber Pischer, Neillsville.
Lori Christie was home from Scotland for
Christmas and for her birthday. She returned to Scotland, landing safely
Saturday morning. Lori had another “special” to write in her memory book. On her
return to the United States, her two seat-mates were from Duluth, MN. They asked
Lori if she had ever been in Duluth and were surprised to when Lori told them
she had just completed four years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. They
talked about the weather, snow and all the cold weather Duluth recently had and
about how beautiful the city of Duluth is in the summer. It definitely is a
small world.
