Voight, Julius E. (05 OCT 1862 – 11 DEC 1944)

Julius E. Voight was born on October 5, 1862 in the town of Farmington, Jefferson County, near Watertown, son of Julius and Verola Stremehl Voight. At the age of eleven years he moved to Columbus with his parents where he made his home until about 1902 when he came to Greenwood where he has lived since.

On April 26, 1916 he united in marriage to Rose Kocher of the Town of Eaton. To this union one daughter, Marion, was born.

He passed away on December 11, 1944 at his farm home in the Town of Eaton having reached the age of 82 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 14. Rev. A.J. Abbott will officiate. The songs “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “God Will Take Care of You,” will be sung during the service. He will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter and one brother Frank of Columbus, Wis.

The pallbearers will be John Scheuring, George Scherer Sr., Hugo Lenz, Emil Schendel, Otto Roehl and Otto Bruss.

The flowers will be in charge of Mrs. Herbert Schendel, Mrs. Gilbert Rhode, Mrs. Geo. Scherer Jr. and Mrs Joe Rondorf.
