Clute, Helen A. (07 NOV 1864 – 21 OCT 1947)
Mrs. C.H. Clute passed
away very peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.J.B. Datz,
Minneapolis, Minn., the morning of October 21, 1947, at the age of 82 years, 11
months, and 14 days.
Helen A. Clute was born in the town of Lindina,
Juneau County, Wisconsin, November 7, 1864. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs.
Charles O. Babcock, pioneer settlers of the southwest part of that township. She
was untied in marriage to Curtis H. Clute, in Mauston, Wis., November 7, 1888.
They resided in Janesville and LaCrosse before coming to greenwood, where they
spent 43 years of happy married life. To this union were born four children,
Bessie, Gertrude, Leon and Richard.
Mrs. Clute was preceded in death by
her husband, her daughter Bessie and sons Leon and Richard. One cannot help but
know that she was happy to join them in heaven.
Mrs. Clute is survived by
one daughter, Gertrude, (Mrs. W.J.B. Datz), Minneapolis; three brothers, Archie
and Leon Babcock, Mauston, Wis. and Lester Babcock, Glendive, Montana; 6 grand
children and 7 great grandchildren.
