Wetzel, Carol (18 OCT 1952)
Autumn leaves and vines of
pompons decorated the altar of Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus on Saturday, Oct.
18, 1952, when Miss Carol Wetzel exchanged marriage vows with Kenneth Hein. The
Rev. Walter Wegner officiated at the 2 o'clock rites. Music was provided by
Arnold Lober at the organ and Mrs. Donald Kurth as soloist.
The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wetzel, route 2, Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.), while her husband is the son of Mrs. Ella Hein, Columbus.
A white
velvet bolero was worn over the lace and taffeta ballerina length dress selected
by the bride, who was presented in marriage by her father. A white orchid
surrounded by pompons composed her all white bouquet.
Bridal aides
included Miss Cecelia Ballweg, in rust taffeta, as maid of honor, and her
sister, Nancy, in dark green taffeta, as bridesmaid. Another sister, Judith, and
Christine Raith, the bridegroom's niece, both wearing yellow frocks, served as
flower girls. All wore flowers in their hair and carried bouquets of matching
pompons.
Henry Ballweg was best man. Robert Hein was groomsman, and
Russell Hein and Milton Wetzel ushered.
Mr. and Mrs. Hein, who are both
graduates of the high school at Columbus, are residing on a farm on route 2,
Columbus.
