Kokaly, Martin (11 NOV 1867 - 20 NOV 1952)
Martin Kokaly Sr. was born on
Nov. 11, 1867 in Velkors, Austria, the son of Mathew Kokaly and Maria (Topoltek)
Kokaly.
He was united in marriage in Oickel, Germany to Josephine Smolich
on Feb. 25, 1900. They came to the United States in Sept. 1902, settling in
Sunnyside, Utah, and came to Willard (Clark Co., Wis.) in Nov. 1914, settling on
a farm 1/4 mile east of the village. In 1914 they came to Greenwood.
Mr.
Kokaly passed away at his home in Greenwood on Thursday, Nov. 20, 1952,
following many months of illness.
Funeral services were held at the
Schiller Funeral Parlors at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24th. The Rev. Charles
Koch officiated and he was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr.
Kokaly is survived by hsi wife, three daughters, Mrs. Arlan? (Emilie) Ross,
Hazel Park, Mich.; Mrs. Jos. (Edna) Pufka, Detroit, Mich.; and Mrs. Harold,
(Avis) Hartman, Oaklawn, Ill., and three sons, Martin Jr., Willard; Reinhold,
Chicago and Edward, Marshfield, and 8 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in
death on Oct. 28, 1951.
The pallbearers were Matt Briski, John Verschay,
George Vivoda, John Brezic, Anton Debevec and Joe Ulesich.
