Zallar, John F. (20 JUN 1907 - 25 DEC 1952)
John F. Zallar was born June 20, 1907 at Lorraine Ohio, son of the late John
and Anna Zallar. In 1913 the family moved to Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), where
his parents operated a general store and where John received his education and
grew to manhood.
On May 15, 1937 he was united in marriage to Mary Plautz
at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard.
He was town chairman of
Hendren at the time of his death, and a member of the Clark County Board of
Supervisors.
He passed away at his home in Willard on Dec. 25, 1952 at
5:25 a.m. The body was then taken to the Schiller Undertaking Parlors, where it
lay in state until Monday morning.
Religious servcies were conducted by
the Rev. Augustine Svete, O.P.M., on Monday, Dec. 29. Interment was made in the
Zallar family lot in teh Catholic Cemetery in Willard.
He is survived by
his wife Mary, a son James, and a daughter Judy, his sister, Mrs. Elmer (Eva)
Severson of Willard; a brother Joseph of Milwaukee; a half-sister, Mrs. Frank
Ziherl of Akron, Ohio; two half-brothers, Tony and Frank Zevnik of Madison,
Wis., and numerous relatives and friends also survive in the Willard vicinity
and elsewhere.
The pallbearers were John Verschay Jr., Albert Musich,
Vanetine Krainz, Wm. Bayuk, Wm. Petkovsek, and Frank Parkel Jr.
Out of
town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Tony Zevnik and Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Zevnik of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zallar and Rosalie and Mr.
and Mrs. Martin Matkovich Jr. of West Allis, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Albright and
son LeRoy of Wausau.
