Malchow, David Lowell (21 SEP 1943 - 15 JAN 2014)
David Lowell Malchow,
70, Medford, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15 at St. Clare Meadow's. A memorial
service will be held at a later date. Redlin Funeral Home of Baraboo is
assisting the family.
David Malchow was born September 21, 1943 to the
late Harvey and Wanda (Clausen) Malchow in Wisconsin. He was united in marriage
to Carol Rief. Though later divorced, they were always important to one another.
Malchow worked for the City of Madison's Police Department from 1966 to
1981. He held the rank of sergeant. He then worked for the Taylor County
Sheriff's Department for 26 years, where he retired from law enforcement.
Malchow loved gardening and yard work. He also enjoyed trips to the casino with
his friends and sons.
He is survived by his children, Adam (Tammy) and
Christopher (Andrea); four grandchildren, Angela (Evan) Bulla, Sarah (Kyle)
Hoefer, and Christopher and Ryan Malchow; five brothers, Harvey Lance, Jim,
Steve, Mike and Wayne; his former wife, Carol Malchow; and niece, nephews, and
many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Lexi.
