Linda Lorraine
Johnson was born in Sheboygan Falls on June 16, 1869 and came with her parents
to Clark County, Wis. When she was five years old, settling on a farm in the
Town of York, where she grew to womanhood.
On Aug. 23, 1886 she was
united in marriage to George Gardner. To this union were born two children, a
son, Floyd and a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Vera) Heiking.
The Gardners lived
in Greenwood (Clark Co.) until Mr. Gardner passed away in 1925. For the past
seventeen years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Heiking, southeast
of Greenwood.
Mrs. Gardner passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25,
1953 at the Heiking home, death was due to old age complications. She has been
in poor health for some time.
The body reposed at the Myre Funeral Home,
Loyal, until Wednesday noon, when it was taken to the Methodist Church, Loyal,
where services were held at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Virgil Nulton, Neillsville,
officiated. She was laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mrs. Gardner is
survived by her daughter, Mrs. Heiking, a brother, Lyman Johnson, Oshkosh, vie
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
