Oleson, Willard C. (19 APR 1915 - 26 MAR
1953)
Willard Chris Oleson was born April 19, 1915 at Jump River, Wis. He
was united in marriage to Pearl Beebe on Dec. 15, 1934. To this union were born
two children, Robert, age 17 and Joy Ann, age 5. For the past years he and his
family have resided on a farm near Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin.
He
was baptized into the Christian faith last spring by consent and decision of the
board of deacons of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He received instruction in the
teachings of the Lutheran Church, and gave public witness to this faith before
this congregation in Nov. 1952.
He became ill some time ago and on March
26, 1953 he passed away at his home.
Funeral services were held on
Monday, March 30 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. He was laid to
rest in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. M.S. Egge offiicated.
During the
service Mrs. Fritz Extrom of Gilman sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Under His
Wings."
The pallbearers were nephews: Alfred Buyatt, Thomas Oleson,
Norman Sweet, Chris Oleson, Waukesha; William Buyatt, Pewaukee; Jerry Sweet,
Jump River, Wis.
The flower girls were nieces: Shirley Mengel, Donna
Miller, Waukesha; Nancy Oleson, Beverly Oleson, Sullivan, Wis.
He leaves
to mourn his death, his wife, a son Robert and a daughter Joy Ann, his father,
Chris Oleson, five brothers, Dallas of Redding, Calif.; Delbert, Harley and
Herbert of Waukesha, George of Sullivan, six sisters, Mrs. Alfa Buyatt, Mrs. Ida
Sweet of Jump River, Mrs. Ethel Miller, Mrs. Alma Mengel of Waukesha, and Mrs.
Ada Hoover of Mantec, Calif. His mother preceded him in death 17 years ago.
Those from away who attended the services were Arthur Sweet, Norman Sweet,
Darrell Mengel, Chris Oleson, Shirley Mengel, Donna Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Buyatt, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Buyatt, Thomas Oleson, Richard Oleson, Mrs. Frank
Kickoski, Mary Storms, Douglas Buyatt, Wm. Buyatt, Pewaukee; Claude Troxel, Tom
Troxel, Mrs. Frances Poole, Muscoda; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Whitesel, Madison; Mr.
and Mrs. Fame Poole, Ted Poole, Milwaukee; Bette Troxel, Madison; David Troxel,
Mrs. Max Storms, Muscoda; Barbara Hink, Michael Hink, Wales; Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Troxel, Mrs. Cora Troxel, Stetsonville.
