Spencer, Valentine (14 FEB 1874 - 29 MAR 1953)
Mrs. Ray Knutsen received word last week of the death of her uncle, Major
Valentine Spencer at Seattle, Wash.
Major V. Spencer, son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. David Spencer, was born Feb. 14, 1874 at Hixton. When a young boy he
came with his parents to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and lived on a farm north
of here, where he grew to manhood.
Mrs. Spencer went to the state of
Washington in 1942. He was a timber cruiser by trade.
He passed away at
his home on R. 1, Bothell, Wash. on March 29, 1953, following an extended
illness. Services were ehld at the Purdy-Walters Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on
Thursday, April 2, 1953. The Rev. E.A. Wolfe officiated. He was laid to rest in
the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Seattle.
He is survived by his
wife, Hildur, a sister, Mrs. Harry "Ethel" Bryden of Croswell, Ore.
Mr.
Spencer was a brother of the late Mrs. Peter Peterson of Greenwood.
