Miss Edith M. Mattioda, Chicago and George R. Syth, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arleigh Syth, were united in marriage during a 9:00 a.m. service in the
Fifth Army Chapel, Chicago, on Saturday, April 11, 1953. Officiating at the
service was Col. Kilcona.
The bride was attired in a white ballerina
length gown with a blusher veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses with an
orchid center.
Ann H. Konieczny, Chicago, her only attendant, wore a
yellow ballerina length dress and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow tea
roses.
The groom was attended by John T. Tencra of Detroit, Mich.
Both the bride and groom graduated from high school in 1947.
The bride is
a member of the Women's Army Corps and is stationed with the Fifth Rops in
Chicago. The groom is a special agent with the Illinois Central Railroad. After
a honeymoon in Oklahoma, they will make their home in Greenwood.
