Mrs. Wm. Goeke entered St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, Sunday and underwent surgery Monday morning.
Mrs. Douglas
Behrens underwent an operation at the Neillsville Hospital last week.
Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Kuester and daughters of St. Louis, Mo., visited last week at
the E.L. Ketchpaw and Wm. Kuester homes.
The Hemlock Aid will meet with
Mrs. Willard Oleson on Wednesday, May 13. Mrs. Carl Wetzel will be assisting
hostess.
Susie and Marcia Behrens of Willard are visiting their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens. Roxy Behrens spent the weekend here.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stewart, James and Mary of Marshfield spent the weekend at
the Robert Stewart home.
Mrs. Art Stewart, Withee, visited at the Robert
Stewart home on Wednesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens, Marcia
and Susie visited Mrs. Douglas Behrens at the Neillsville Hospital Friday
evening.
Theo Humke returned last Saturday from a week's visit to West
Salem and La Crosse, Wis., and new Albin, Iowa. He attended the wedding of a
cousin of Mrs. Humke at La Cross on April 25th.
Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Kenyon
left Tuesday to visit their son Lloyd and family in Michigan, and their
son-in-law and daughter, Pvt. and Mrs. Harvey Humke, in Kentucky.
Mr. and
Mrs. Orlin Fravert, Mrs. Norman Reineking, Dale and Gene, and Miss Eldora
Reineking were at Rochester, Minn. Sunday, where they visited Otto Reineking,
who underwent an operation there on Friday.
Mrs. Peter Jarocki and
daughter of Thorp visited Friday morning at the Mike Kowieski home.
Mr.
and Mrs. M.C. Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Heiting, Abbotsford, visited at the
Robert Stewart home on Monday evening of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester
Kliminski and family of Thorp visited Sunday at the Mike Kowieski home.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stewart, James and Mary, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Stewart Sr., Helen and Mary Lou visited Sunday afternoon at the Robert Stewart
Jr. home at Stanley.
In the Thursday, April 30th issue of the Milwaukee
Sentinel, a picture of the Million Penny Parade at Arbor Vitae - Woodruff High
School was run. Included in the picture was that of Wilma Hafenbradl. Wilma is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hafenbradl, who formerly lived on a farm east of
Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger were Marshfield callers Friday
evening.
Mrs. Calvin Franz and Mrs. John Snedic visited Mrs. E.N. Paul at
Owen on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Afkend left Monday for Highland,
Wis., where they attended the wedding of a relatives.
Mary Lou Stewart,
Marshfield, spent Saturday night and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Stewart.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Ampe and son david of Madison spent the
weekend with his mother, Mrs. Frieda Ampe.
Mrs. John Snedic, Jim and Mary
Ann visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Trunkel at Willard Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson and Patty Jo were business callers at St. Paul on
Friday and Saturday.
Ray Knutsen attended a telephone convention at
Madison on Wednesday and Thursday.
Mrs. Henry Linneman underwent an
operation at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs.
Oscar Miller visited Sunday evening at the Otto Schwarze home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Vernard Swieso of Monroe spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Swieso.
Mrs. W.E. Hogue left Tuesday for Cudahy, where she will
visit her son Bernard and family.
Frank Francel, Mr. and Mrs. John
Francel of Willard visited Sunday at the I.J. Koschak home.
Mrs. Anna
Quast, Neillsville, visited Sunday at the Martin Quast home.
Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Laken moved to Greenwood Monday, into the home they recently purchased.
Earl Sloniker reports that he had fresh rhubarb from his garden last week.
Mrs. Bert Wilcox, who spent the winter months with her son and family at
Elkhorn, returned home Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tolaney, Stevens Point,
visited at the John Verschay and Joe Verschay homes Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Erickson, Melvin Lyon and children Sonia, Sandra and Rodney visited Sunday
at the Grant Rear home in Eau Claire.
Saturday night guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Dallman were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stangret, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Baird
and son Bob, Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf and son Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy
Metcalf and daughter Carol.
Lorraine and Beverly Carteron spent the
weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. V.R. Carteron.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt
Dergance of Chicago took over the Laken farm on May 1.
Mr. and Mrs.
Bernard Denk and children were Eau Claire visitors Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs.
Everett Humke of La Crosse spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A.
Stewart.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thompson and daughter Terry spent the weekend
at Janesville with his parents.
Roy Thomas, Loyal, and W.A. Stewart
attended a District Scout meeting at Chippewa Falls last Tuesday evening.
Mrs. John Wuethrich, Mrs. John D. Wuethrich and Miss Florence Williams
visited Mrs. Henry Linneman at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Monday.
