Jolivette, Norbert (Ordination - 24 MAY 1953)

St. Paul, Minn. -- Ceremonies for the ordination of Norbert L. Jolivette into the ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church are scheduled to be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis. On Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 1953, at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Jolivette is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jolivette of Greenwood.

Dr. L.N. Field, professor of church music and catechetics at Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., will perform the act of ordination. The Rev. A.E. Norson, pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellview, Minn., will preach the ordination sermon, and the Rev. Magnus Egge, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Greenwood, will be the liturgist.

Others participating in the ceremony will be the Rev. Theodore M. Nelson, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Superior, Wis.; the Rev. Lowell Smestad, pastor of the Medo Lutheran Church, Mapleton, Minn.; and the Rev. Arne Carlson, pastor of Little Norway and Squaw Creek Lutheran Church, Black River Falls, Wis.

Mr. Jolivette received his Candidate of Theology degree from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, at commencement activities there May 17. He has accepted a call to serve the Almont, N.D., beginning June 1. He is to be installed there June 7 by Dr. Loyal Tallakson, president of the North Dakota District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
