The University of Wis. Committee
on Loans and Undergraduate Scholarships has notified Judith Behrens, who
graduated from Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) High School last week, that she has
been selected to receive a Kris..? Scholarship. The amount of this scholarship
is $400 per year and payments are made to the recipients each year throughout
the undergraduate career, providing that a satisfactory record is maintained.
Judith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Behrens, Route 1, Owen,
graduated from Greenwood High School May 20 with honors. She also received the
D.A.R. Good Citizenship Award as an outstanding school citizen. Judith not only

high school, doing excellent work in a variety of school activities.
She
was active in band, chorus and glee club throughout her high school career, and
did much instrumental, vocal and piano solo work. As a senior she edited the
school paper and served on the paper staff for three years. She also
participated in forensics and one-act play productions, where she received
several special honors. Judith was also a member of the F.H.A. throughout her
high school years.
The Kemper K. Knapp Scholarships have been made
possible to graduates of Wisconsin and Ilinois high school who enroll at the
University of Wisconsin by Mr. Kemper K. Knapp of the class of 1879 of the Law
School of the University of Wisconsin, who was a distinguished lawyer in the
city of Chicago. In the final disposition of his estate by his last Will gave a
large sum of money to the Regents of the University of Wisconsin with the
expressed desire that there be provided out of the income from it, scholarships
for high school graduates. A total of forty-eight scholarships are awarded each
year to Wisconsin and Illinois high school graduates who enter the University.
