Fourteen young
people were confirmed in the Christian Faith at Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on Sunday, May 31, 1953. Robed in white gowns and
carrying blue New Testaments, a gift to them from the congregation, they came
forward to kneel for their vows individually. They will receive their first
Communion at the morning worship service next Sunday.
Confirmation
followed a period of instruction in the fundamentals of the Christian faith,
Luther's Small Catechism and the New Testament, concentrating on the Gospel of
St. John. They have been meeting Saturday mornings for instruction with the Rev.
M.S. Egge, Pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
On Friday evening
Catechization was held for the class, at which public testimony was made of
their instruction before the assemble congregation. Members of the confirmation
class were: Ronald Gen Boeck, Dale Leonard Johnson, Otto Kind Jr., Norman Leroy
Olson, Norbert Ross Olson, James Arthur Turnquist, Blanche Jean Clouse, Shirley
Jean Johnson, Janette Lenore Deegan, Rose Maria Deegan, Darlene Yvonne Haupt,
