On Saturday, June 20, 1953, at St. Patrick's Catholic, Church, Eau Claire, Miss Kay Ann Shea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don. T. Shea, Eau Claire, became the bride of S-Sgt. LeRoy Gene Plunkett, Madison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. Father John Rositer officiated at the 9:00 a.m. double ring service. The bride's brothers, Mark and Jack Shea were the Mass servers.

The bride wore a waltz-length gown of Swiss imported organdy over white taffeta with a Chantilly lace bolero. Her chapel length veil of nylon net with lace edging was fastened to a lace headdress with mother of pearl decorations. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and red sweetheart roses.

Mavin Jacobs, Eau Claire, as maid of honor, and Jeanne Shea, Eau Claire, a sister of the bride, were attired in yellow and blue organdy ballerina length frocks, respectively. Each carried a bouquet of daisies and carnations.

Attending the groom were Harry Plunkett, Jr., Greenwood, brother of the groom, as best man, and Edward Moffett, Tuckahoe, N.Y., now stationed at Truax Field, Madison, as groomsman. The duties of ushering were carried out by Donald Shea, Eau Claire, brother of the bride, and Joseph Plunkett, Eau Claire, the groom's brother.

The mother of the bride wore a gown of off white with black accessories, and the groom's mother's gown was of white with navy blue accessories, and both wore corsages of carnations and sweetheart roses.

A breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents for the bridal party and a reception was held there from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The bride is employed in Minneapolis as a teletype operator and the groom, who is in military service, plans to leave on July 20 for Okinawa.

The couple left on a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and Illinois.

The bride was honored with showers by Mavis and Jacqueline Jacobs, Constance Kuhn, and Mrs. Russell W. Olson.
