visited Saturday at the Emil Lemke home.
Dennis Neuenfeldt spent from
Tuesday until Thursday at the James Neuenfeldt home in Medford.
Elmer
Learman, Loyal, Lloyd Longridge and Jerry spent the weekend at Mosquito Hollow.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Toaton of Sheboygan visited at the Herman Metzke home
Saturday night and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bayuk and son moved Monday
into the upper apartment in the Kenyon residence.
Mrs. Lee Neville of Rib
Lake visited her sister, Mrs. Fred Behrens, last Thursday.
Ed Stiefvater
and twin daughters Sharon and Karen of Port Washington, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Greg Rogillio enroute to Salem, S.D.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Gordee, Mr. and Mrs. Theo ??, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Nirva and Carl spent the weekend
of June 20th in Milwaukee and attended the Biernat Gordee wedding.
Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Gordee spent from Friday until Sunday, a week ago, in Milwaukee,
and attended the wedding of their daughter Agnes to Ray Biernat on Saturday.
Mrs. Stanley Mikottis of Bensenville, Ill., and Mrs. Joe Morgal and daughter
bonnie of Big Lake, Texas left Friday for their homes after visiting their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger Sr. and other relatives. Barbara and Mary
Jo Mikottis remained to spend the summer at the John Kaltinger Jr. home, and
Dennis Mikottis is visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mikottis.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Einfeldt and Mrs. Lydia Varney visited at the Frec C. Jenson
home in Medford Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Speich and violet visited Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Meinhardt Sunday evening.
Mrs. Helene Rossman of Spokane,
Wash., is visiting relatives and friends here for the summer.
Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Peterson of Janesville visited Mrs. Peterson's cousin, Fred Drew, last
week.
Mrs. Alma Mason and Miss Gust Drew left Monday for Saner, Wis.,
where they will be employed for the summer. Miss Gladys Drew drove them as far
as Wausau.
The Legion Auxiliary is collecting shoes and clothing for
Korea. If you have any please contact some member. More about this later.
Miss Margaret Perman, who has been attending summer school at Purdue, Ind.,
expects to return home on Friday.
W.T. Fay and Mrs. Zula Meier of
Jefferson, Wis. Visited from Friday until Monday at the home of their
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Markee.
Mrs. Bert Brown and
daughter Brenda and Patti Jo Thompson spent last week Wednesday at the Robert
Missling home at Loyal. If you think it is fun to ride the old gray mare, just
ask Brenda and Patti.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Swieso, Lewis and Larry
Ellingson, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede, Leonard Jr. and Jimmy of New
Ulm, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso enjoyed a picnic at Wis. Dells
Monday. The Thiede family returned to Greenwood with the Walter Swieso's and are
spending the week here and with relatives at Granton.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Stewart spent Thursday evening with their daughter Mary Lou at Marshfield.
Mrs. Walter Stabnow of Neillsville visited last Sunday afternoon with Mrs.
Elizabeth Brown.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alperstett and family visited Sunday
evening at the Ben Dallman home.
Mrs. Meta Decker left last week for
Saner, Wis. Where the plans to spend the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Cox spent from Tuesday until Thursday of last week visiting relatives in
southern Wisconsin and Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mech, Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Liebzeit and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neuenfeldt enjoyed a picnic
at Hatfield Sunday.
Mrs. Robert Nerbun and children of Menomonie, Mich.
are visiting her mother, Mrs. Julia Perman and other relatives.
Mrs. Chal
Perkins and Miss Evangeline Sheets left last week for Saner, Wis., where they
will be employed for the summer.
Mrs. Nellie Buhite of Portland, Ore. Is
visiting her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogue and
sister-in-law and Mrs. W.E. Hogue.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson and family
of Elkhorn visited friends here Sunday. Bob returned on Monday. Mrs. Johnson and
children remained for a longer visit.
Mmes. Glen Drew, Harry Liebzeit and
Robert Carl visited friends at Waterloo on Sunday, and also visited Mrs. Vera
Schultz at St. Mary's Hospital, Watertown. They report Mrs. Schultz as being a
little better, but not our of danger as yet.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van
Keuren and daughter Patrice, Madison and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Humke, La Crosse
spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stewart. Mrs. Van Keuren
and daughter and Mrs. Humke remained for a week's visit.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Zank, Mrs. Geo. Behm, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Meyer, Neillsville,
visited Sunday at the Emil Lemke home.

Stewart Sr. home were Mrs. John Thompson, sons John and Thomas, Arlington, Va.;
Mrs. Art Jepsen and daughters Kathy and Karol, Portage; Mrs. O.R. Thompson, Mr.
and Mrs. Buck Jepsen and family, rib Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Majewski and
daughter Roberta, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Rast, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Randall,
Ashland; Mr. and Mrs. Pat Plunkett and daughters Bethel and Jean, and Miss Alice
Ann Plunkett, Madison, spent the weekend of June 20th at the Harry Plunkett Sr.
home here.
Ernie, Joe and Bill Erickson left last week for a trip through
the west.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Palmer and Cynthia of Amery spent Saturday and
Sunday at the Robert Ramin home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hogue and family of
Cucahy are visiting his mother, Mrs. W.E. Hogue.
Mrs. Al Penrose of
Coloma, Mich. is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogue.
Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Jackson of Lewiston, Minn. spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs.
Celia Jackson, and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wuethrich and
children and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kavanaugh and children spent the weekend at the
Wuethrich cottage near Hayward.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Plunkett and daughter
Kathy of Eau Claire spent the weekend here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Plunkett Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence cox and Nancy and Mrs. Minnie Cox
spent Sunday at the Jessie Offord home at Thorp.
Mrs. J.S. Andrews, who
has been visiting friends here for the past month, left Tuesday for Fairchild,
where she will visit relatives before returning to her home in Jamestown, N.D.
Mrs. Fred Behrens took her to Fairchild by car.
Kenton Stewart left
Monday for Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fricke and children visited
Sunday at the Wm. Dallman home.
Jimmy Carney of Chicago arrived last week
to spend the summer here with relatives.
Mike Hoehne and DuWayne Zillmer
returned Sunday from a trip to Yellowstone Park and other points in the south
and west.
Miss Ann Warner of Madison spent the weekend here with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner.
Elmer Johnson attended a Wisconsin
Rural Letter Carriers Convention at Chippewa Falls last week.
Palmer
Vinger and Wm. Kavanaugh were business callers at Bruce last Thursday.
Dr. R.L. Barnes attended a Postmasters convention at Milwaukee on Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Finkel and
grandchildren Delmond and David Tucker left Sunday for a week's visit with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. August Franz, at Perry, Iowa.
Mr.
and Mrs. James Colby of Loyal called at the Einfeldt home Thursday evening. Mrs.
Colby and Mrs. Einfeldt were college classmates at La Cross.
Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Alperstett and Harry Gordee saw the Milwaukee Braves play at County
Stadium, Milwaukee, Friday night.
Miss Arlene Hendrickson of Kaukauna and
Jimmie and Fay Englebretson of Riplinger called at the Elizabeth Brown home
Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Metzke and sons James and John and daughters
Marlene and Joan visited at the Arthur Albrecht and Jerome Radinger homes at
Abbotsford Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alperstett, Carol,
Connie and Kaye, Miss Eileen Schwarze spent four days in Milwaukee last week and
attended the wedding of Agnes Gordee and Ray Biernat.
