The Bronze Star
Medal with the letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with
military operation against an armed enemy was awarded to Pfc. Norman C. Noah,
Infantry, United States Army, for heroism in action near Pau-Goi, Korea, on July
17, 1953. Private Noah without hesitation or regard for his own personal safety,
left the comparative shelter of his bunker to repair a broken radio antenna.
Although he was exposed to the intense Communist Artillery and motor barrage
which had disable the antenna. Private Noah calmly continued replacing the
destroyed equipment, even after he was painfully wounded by an enemy round. As a
result of Private Noah's courage and self-sacrificial act, tactically important
"communication facilities were restored."
Pfc. Norman C. Noah is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah of this community (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.).
