Fonstad, Clifton (Attends Workshop - SEP 1953)
Clifton
Fonstad, President of the Clark Co. Education Association, attended the annual
workshop for leaders in education circles at the Wis. State College at Stevens
Point Friday evening and Saturday, Sept. 11 an 12. The meetings, which were
sponsored by the Wis. Education Association, were designed to give those
attending "something to take back home" to the local school systems and
association.
A variety of topics were considered in discussions conducted
by speakers and panels well-known in education circles. Dr. Glen Eye of the
University of Wisconsin discussed "Excitement in Teaching" at the Friday evening
session. Dr. Glenn Snow, NEA representative, and WEA president Clyde Shields,
also talked at this session. The Saturday sessions in the morning and afternoon
featured topics ranging from help for local education associations to public
relations and professional standards.
