Speich, Edward W. (26 FEB 1891 - 13 SEP 1953)
Edward W. Speich, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Speich, was born in Monroe, Wis. on Feb. 26, 1891. He
moved with his parents to Oshkosh in 1895 and here he received his education. In
1902 the family moved to Greenwood. Edward was the first cheesemaker in the
Hemlock Factory.
He was united in marriage to Pearl Ames of Pittsville.
Edward was employed by the Swift Company for about thirty years, twenty-five of
which he was manager of the Swift Plant at Lima, Ohio. During the last war he
became an employee of the Westinghouse Electric Co., in which position he
continued until his death.
Mr. Speich passed away at Lima, Ohio on
Sunday, Sept. 13, 1953, following a few week's illness.
He leaves to
mourn his death, his wife, one daughter, one grandson, six brothers, Jake, John
and George of Greenwood; Fed of Pittsville; Abe of Bloomer, Henry of Mineral
Point; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Rose) Ludwig of Greenwood.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1953 and was was laid to rest in
Gethsemane Cemetery of Lima, Ohio.
