Drews, Phyllis (29 AUG 1953)
The First Methodist Church Chapel, Oak Park,
Ill. on Aug. 29, 1953, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Phyllis Drews,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry O. Drews of 24 Ashland, and Robert Reese, son of
Mr. and Mrs. David Reese of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis. The Rev. Charles Jarvis
officiated.
Wearing a gown that she designed of imported Belgian lace and
net over Skinner satin. The bride was escorted to the Altar by her father, Henry
C. Drews. Her veil fell from a Dutch cap of lace and she carried white roses.
Dr. Francis Moore was organist and Miss Dolores Schoen was soloist. The
chapel was decorated with white baby mums and gladioli and candelabra.
Mrs.. Robert Ennis??, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a frock
of grey French lace and net over ice blue taffeta and a Dutch bonnet of lace.
She carried American Beauty roses.
James McLaughlin of Madison served as
best man and Robert Evans ushered.
A dinner and reception were held at
the Oak Park Arms for the family and friends.
Mrs. Drews, mother of the
bride, received in beige crepe with brown accessories.
After a stay at
Silver Lake, Wis., the couple is at home in Madison. The new Mrs. Reese, who
graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1952, received her Master's Degree
from Wisconsin law school. She will teach mathematics
