Fradette, James H. (20 OCT 1883 - 13 NOV 1953)
James H.
Fradette, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Fradette, was born in Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.) on Oct. 20, 1883. He was educated in the Greenwood school and
graduate from our high school with the class of 1901.
On Nov. 26, 1903 he
was united in marriage with Miss Jacolia Mack at Greenwood. They resided here
until 1933 when they moved to Neillsville.
He was at one time City Clerk
of Greenwood and taught in the rural schools in the area until 1933 when he was
elected County Treasurer, which office he has held until his death.
He is
survived by his wife, two sons, Capt. Mack Fradette, who is stationed with the
armed forces in Japan; John of Rockford, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Fred
(Lorraine) Darling, Neillsville; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild,
also a sister, Mrs. Bessie Buch, Poulan, Ill., and a brother, Herman of
Neillsville.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 16th at 2:00 p.m.
from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Wm. F.
Koehler officiated. Mr. Fradette was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The pallbearers were H.R. Baird, Henry Rahn, Mike Krultz Jr., Otto
Weyhmiller, Ben Frantz and Hugh Haight.
