Mrs. William
Goeke, nee Lydia Decker, daughter of Mrs. Henry Decker and the late Mr. Henry
Decker, was born Sept. 1, 1894 in the Town of Warner (Clark Co., Wis.) and
received her education and resided in this community all of her life.
On
May 27, 1920 she was united in marriage to William Goeke. To this union were
born two sons, Gerald of Milwaukee and Harvey at home, and one daughter, Mrs.
Lorris (Alice) Dusso, Greenwood.
Mrs. Goeke was a member of the West Side
Evangelical and Reformed Church and its Ladies Aid.
She passed away at
her home 2 1/2 miles northwest of Greenwood on Monday, Dec. 14, 1953 at 9:00
p.m. following a lingering illness.
Friends may pay their respects at the
Stabnow Funeral Parlors beginning at noon on Wednesday until time of funeral on
Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the West Side Evangelical and
Reformed Church on Friday, Dec. 18th at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Charles Koch will
officiated and she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
She is
survived by her husband and the above named children, her mother, two grandsons,
Billie and Jimmy Dusso, Greenwood; thre brothers, Oscar Decker, Spencer; William
and Arnold Decker, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Esther) Sievert, Eau
Claire, and Mrs. Calvin Franz, Greenwood.
