Funeral services for
Peter E. Nysted, 81, of Loyal, who died September 26 at Luther Hospital in Eau
Claire, were held Tuesday, September 28, at 11 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran
Church. The Rev. William Humlie officiated and burial was made in the Loyal
Cemetery. The Roycraft Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Peter
Nysted was born August 28, 1890, in Tromso, Norway, and came to the United
States in 1910. His marriage to the former Tilla Holt took place December 2,
1911 in Colfax. The couple farmed for several years. In 1922, Mr. Nysted began
working for the Soo Line Railroad as a section foreman. The family lived in
several places while Mr. Nysted worked for the railroad, and came to Loyal in
1933. He retired in 1958. Mr. Nysted was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and
of the Lutheran Brotherhood.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include
six daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Margaret) Noeldner of Greenwood, Mrs. James (Pearl)
Ursin and Mrs. Burt (Violet) Finet for Wausau, Mrs. Wanda Auth of Colfax, Mrs.
Jay (Mary) Brintlinger of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Dale (Jeanne) Rickstad of Eau
Claire; three sons, Julius of Flagstaff, Ariz., Orville of Colfax and Leonard of
Highland Park, Ill.; and 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A brother
and four sisters also survive.
Pallbearers were: Leonard Noeldner, James
Ursin, Burt Finet, Dale Rickstad, Orville Nysted, and Leonard Nysted. The hymns,
“What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Behold a Host” were sung by the
congregation. Mrs. John Olson was the organist.
