Miss Mary Beth Roberts
became the bride of Marcus Anthony Schultz Saturday, October 2, at 5:30 p.m. at
the Neillsville United Church of Christ. Officiating clergymen were the Rev.
George E. Yons and the Rev. Charles D. Brady. Parents of the couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Roberts of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schultz of Rt. 1
Neillsville.
Altar bouquets of fall-colored flowers including bronze
mums, yellow roses, red glamillias, and cattails decorated the church for the
candlelight, double-ring ceremony.
For her marriage the bride chose a
floor-length, long-sleeved white velvet gown styled with venise lace-trimmed
bodice and cuffs. Her full length veil was bordered with matching lace. She
carried a fall-colored bouquet of bronze pompons, yellow roses, red glamillias,
baby’s breath, and stephanotis as she was given in marriage by her father.
Mrs. Michael Kapfer, Stoughton, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. John Bergemann, Milwaukee, Miss Lorene Schultz, and Mrs. Roger Ingold, Jr.
Miss Becky Roberts was the junior bridesmaid. The bridal attendants wore
floor-length, empire-styled gowns of autumn-colored floral prints accented with
green velvet ribbon headpieces. They carried bouquets of red glamillias.
Clemens Schultz, Milwaukee, served a bestman. Groomsmen were John Bergemann,
Milwaukee, Bradley Roberts and Roger Ingold, Jr. Guests were seated by Michael
Kapfer, James Simek and Bruce Rakestraw. Billy Roberts was the ringbearer.
“The Lord’s Prayer” was sung by Miss Julie Knoff. Miss Eileen Zank was the
organist.
A reception for 200 guests was held at the Wildcat Inn., where
a dance followed.
The newlyweds are graduates of Neillsville High School.
The bride also attended La Crosse State University and Career Academy, and has
been employed in Marshfield. The groom attended Eau Claire Technical Institute
and is employed in Neillsville.
Following a wedding trip to the
Mississippi Valley Region, the couple will live in Neillsville.
