Mikottis, Joseph (11 September
1887 - 9 October 1971)

Joseph Mikottis, 84, of Greenwood died October 9
at the Family Heritage Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral services were held
Tuesday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Leander
Koopman officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. Mikottis
was born September 11, 1887, in Yugoslavia. He was married there on November 5,
1910 to Agatha Medveic. They came to Greenwood from Joliet, Ill., in 1913 and
farmed until 1954, when they moved to the city of Greenwood. Mrs. Mikottis died
July 15, 1959.
Survivors are four sons, Stanley of Bensenville, Ill.,
John of Roselle, Ill., Joseph, Jr., of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Adolph of
Sacramento, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Ann) Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids,
Mrs. Mary Suda, Milan, O., Mrs. Sylvia Warren and Mrs. John (Martha) Hribar,
Chicago, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Hubner, Harrison, Ill., and Mrs. Thomas (Agatha)
Hendrickson, Champaign, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; and a number of
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. John (Virginia) Tende of Channing, Mich.
Pallbearers were: Joseph Gregorich, Sr., Joseph Herr, Francis Herr, Frank
Klinke, John Kaltinger and Raymond Gregorich.
Those attending included
all 10 of his children and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They were: Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mikottis of Bensenville, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John
Mikottis and family of Roselle, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mikottis, Jr., and
family of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Adolph Mikottis of Sacramento, Calif., and his
son-in-law, daughter and granddaughter of Stanley; Mrs. Mary Suda of Milan, O;
Mrs. Sylvia Warren and son, Robert, of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John (Martha)
Hribar of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Hubner and son of Harrison,
Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Agatha) Hendrickson and family of Champaign, Ill.;
and Mrs. Arthur (Ann) Johnson, daughter, Barbara and son, James, and
granddaughter of Wisconsin Rapids.
