Willard (4 November 1971)

A surprise housewarming party was held Monday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matkovich. Games were played; a lunch brought along was served and there was dancing. The following attended: Mr. and Mrs. Gorde Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Fran Walters, Mrs. Mary Crotzer, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnik, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hauser, Mr. and Mrs. John Luzovec, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Noah, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirn and Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Perko, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Horn, Sr., Ernest Arch, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Matkovich and Tracy and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lindgren of Owen, and the Rev. Michael Mertens.

Guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Plautz were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Schwarze and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Tjetkema of Northwood, Mn. Mr. Tjetkema used to be a cheesemaker one time at the Willard Cheese Factory. They also visited other friends.

Rain accompanied by very high wind visited our neighborhood Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ulesich spent the weekend in Menomonie with their son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Dr. and Mrs. James Ulesich and family.

Mrs. Frank Govek has returned from Pensacola, Fl., where she visited relatives. She went there with Mr. and Mrs. John Butterbaugh.

John Govek of Antigo and William Govek of Eau Claire spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Govek and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Volovsek returned last week from their honeymoon to Kalamazoo, Mi., and Sheboygan.

Last Sunday Steve Plautz was sponsor for confirmation at St. Mary’s in Greenwood for Scott Plautz and Art Bushman was sponsor for Donnie. After the service in the church Mr. and Mrs. Steve Plautz and Mr. and Mrs. Art Bushman were supper guests at the Floyd Plautz home.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koschak and family have returned from a trip to Miami, Fl., where they attended the wedding of Jacqueline Koschak and Jim Hills. They also visited relatives at Clearwater Beach, Fl.

Weekend guests at the john Pernic home were Mr. and Mrs. Tony Volovsek and children of Brooklyn who also attended the Govek-Volovsek wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ceferin, La Grange, Il., spent two days with Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mallmann and Mr and Mrs. Jim Mallmann and son of Milwaukee called on Mr. and Mrs. John Verschay Saturday.

Miss Nancy Arch of Milwaukee spent a week here with her father and brothers.

Ernest Arch, Frank Arch, Jr., Ken Horn, Sr., and Austin McHale came back from their hunting trip to Grass Range, Mt., with their bag limit.

The following were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Volovsek and attended the Govek-Volovsek wedding Saturday: Miss Barb Volovsek, Mrs. Betty Fraid, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jeras, Janelle and Jacky, all of West Allis, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Jeras, Jeanne, Joan and George of Hodgkins, Il.

Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Volovsek and family of Madison were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Volovsek and also attended the Govek-Volovsek wedding Saturday.

Mrs. Joseph Lesar of West Bend was here to visit relatives and attended the Govek-Volovsek wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mallmann and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mallmann and son, Jimmy, Jr., of West Allis, Joseph Govek and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kovacic of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Govek of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Govek, Jr., of Waterloo, and Mr. and Mrs. John Butterbaugh of Pensacola, Fl., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Govek and attended the Govek-Volovsek wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klapatauskas and family were guests Sunday at the Ralph Patrick home in Conrad.

Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Deiler of Marshfield and Mrs. Sam Suda and daughter, Laura, of Gurnee, Il., were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas.

Mike Klapatauskas was confirmation sponsor for Ronald Kitzhaber at St. Mary’s in Greenwood Sunday night. Miss Diane Klapatauskas was sponsor for Ann Kitzhaber.

Ernie Arch, Jim and Nancy, attended the wedding of a friend at Rice Lake last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ulesich were guests Saturday afternoon of Mr. And Mrs. George Dimmitt in Humbird.

Miss Roberta Hemersbach attended the funeral on Monday of a friend at Phillips.

Mrs. William Bayuk and Mrs. Dora Fortuna visited Anne Champa Monday afternoon.
