Trunk, Russell John (23 August 1940 - 18 January 2014)

Russell John Trunk, 73, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin, from lung cancer complications. Born August 23, 1940, in Milaca, MN, Russell lived in Thorp for the past 20 years with his loving wife, Bonnie, having been married for 51 years. Russell worked as a plant manager and executive vice president for Green Giant, Pillsbury, and Stokely Foods. He was an active supporter of President Obama’s grass roots campaign in 2008 and 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, four children and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter in 2007.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 111 North Church Street, Thorp, WI, 54771. Visitation was held on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. A reception was held immediately following the funeral Mass. The burial was held in private. Relatives and friends were welcome to attend.
