Miss Debra Liu Peterson and Thomas James
Genteman exchanged wedding vows October 30 at 2 p.m. in the Colby Methodist
Church before the Rev. B. Scott. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mr. Calvin
Peterson, Unity, and Mr. and Mrs. William Genteman, Sr., Rt. 3 Neillsville.
Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a princess style gown of
white satin accented with lace trim down the front and around the neckline and
cuffs. The train and hem of the gown were edged with hand-crocheted lace. Her
illusion veil was attached to a floral headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white
mums and yellow roses.
Miss Beverly Mills, Loyal, was the maid of honor.
The bridesmaid was Miss Carla Peterson, Unity. Beth Jones, Lytton, Ia., served
as candle lighter. The bridal attendants were attired in empire style gowns of
white and green nylon chiffon over taffeta. Fall flowers were entwined in their
hair and they carried bouquets of fall flowers.
Sheila and Cherie
Genteman, Neillsville, were the flower girls. Their dresses were identical to
those of the other bridal attendants. They carried baskets of fall flowers.
David Genteman, Loyal, served as bestman. Groomsman was Gary Wurmlinger,
Sawyer AFB, Mi. Ushers were David Jones, Lytton, Ia., and Dan Genteman,
Neillsville.
Mrs. David Calley, Jr., was the soloist. The organist was
Debbie Rickard. A reception was held at the Colby United Church of Christ, where
a dinner also was served. A dance was held later at the Silver Dome near
Neillsville.
The bride, a 1969 graduate of Colby High School and a 1971
graduate of the Practical Nursing School at Stevens Point, has been employed in
Neillsville. A graduate of Neillsville High School, the groom is engaged in
farming.
The newlyweds will live on Rt. 3 Neillsville, after a wedding
trip to Michigan.
