Foemmel, Alfred

Funeral services for Alfred
Martin Foemmel, 55, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died at his home November 10, were
held Saturday November 123, at 9:30 a.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev.
Richard Eggen officiated and burial was made in Zion Evangelical Lutheran
Cemetery.
Alfred Foemmel, the son of Margaret (Lautenbach) Foemmel Seif
and the late Fred Foemmel, was born March 25, 1916, in the Town of Grant, where
he received his education. His marriage to the former Jessie Mills took place
June 1, 1941, in Granton. The couple farmed until 1968 when they moved to
Marshfield where Mr. Foemmel was employed until July 1 of this year. At that
time they purchased the Moraine Motel west of Neillsville.
Mr. Foemmel
was a member of the Happy Hollow School board for six years, a 4-H leader, a
church trustee and elder for several years and a member of the Neillsville
Shipping Association. He also was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church in
the Town of Pine Valley.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his
mother, Mrs. David Seif of Neillsville; three children, Carol Schlinsog of
Granton, Roger Foemmel of Neillsville, and Wayne Foemmel of Sacramento, Cal.;
two brothers,, Raymond and Ervin Foemmel, both of Neillsville; and four
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tony Ulesich, Henry Helm, Wallace
Erickson, Wilmer Lueck, Erwin Greeler and Ray Bramucker. Arlyn Mills sang “Jesus
Lead Thou Me” and “Beautiful Savior.” He was accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Those from out of town, who attended the services included the Rev. Orin
Mills, Sr., and Orin Mills, Jr., of High Point, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wikum
of Edgerton, Mr and Mrs. Werner Jahnke of Elgin, Il., Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Jelinski of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Peters of Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Austin and family of Tomah, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mesar of Altoona, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Gregurich of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Jacque Schmidt of Green Bay,
Leland and Marvin Garbisch of Milwaukee, Vernon Garbisch of Sheboygan, Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Mills of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Mills of Owen, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Babka of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Prange of
Libertyville, Il., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Bramucker and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Stittler of Marshfield. Many friends and
relatives from Neillsville and the surrounding area also attended the services.
