Cohara, Blaz (2 February 1886 - 25 November 1971)

Blaz Cohara, 85, was found dead in his trailer home in Willard last Friday. He apparently had died Thursday.

Mr. Cohara was born February 2, 1886, in Poland. He was married to Josephine Monka in Pittsburgh, Pa., and came from Kalamazoo, Mi., to Willard 53 years ago. He farmed on the farm now operated by his son, Andrew, and moved to Willard when he retired. He was a member of the Slovenian National Benefit Society.

Survivors are his wife, a resident of Memorial Home in Neillsville; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Ann) Chedsey of Denver, Co.; five sons, Joseph and John of Denver, Co.; Leo of Riverside, Ca., Michael of Chicago and Andrew of Willard; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Michael Mertens, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church officiated. Burial was made in the National Cemetery at Willard.

Pallbearers were his five sons, Joseph, John, Mike, Leo and Andrew Cohara and Frank Lamovec.

People from away who attended the funeral included Joseph and John Cohara of Denver, Co., Leo Cohara of Riverside, Ca., and Miss Shirley Cohara of Milwaukee.
