Dempsey, Orrin (13 OCT 1904 - 23 JAN 1965)
Funeral services were held
at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for
Orrin Dempsey, 60, who died early Saturday after suffering a heart attack.
Rev. Robert Goessling, pastor of the Congregational Church, Owen, officiated
at the final rites conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Burial was
made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Emil Hansen,
Clarence Pyatt, Jame Crowley, Lawrence Clark, Roy Clark and Fred Hoeper.
Orrin Dempsey, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Dempsey, was born
Oct. 13, 1904 at Rockford, Ill., and came in 1910 with his parents to Withee.
Five years later the family moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and he has ever
since been a resident of this community.
Years ago he first helped his
parents in the operation of their livery business. Later he was employed by the
John S. Owen Lumber Co., Master Package Corp. and the Post Co.
He never
married.
Survivors include four brothers, Glen, Fort Benjamin Harrison,
Ind.; Robert, Chicago; Louis of Madison; Harry, Owen; a sister, Mrs. Gordon
King, Chicago; and a half-sister, Mrs. Mabel Forsyth, Belvidere, Ill.
