Crye, Frank (8 SEP 1886 - 10 FEB 1965)
The
remains of Frank L. Crye were taken to Dexterville, Wis. for burial following
funeral services held here at one o'clock Saturday afternoon. The final rites
were said at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home by Rev. Arnold Woodring of the
Alliance Church.
Serving as pallbearers were John R. Bacon, C.E. Beck,
James Crowley, Roy Anderson, Julius Johnson and Fred Hoeper.
The deceased
was born Sept. 8, 1886 at Merrillan, Wis., moving as a lad with his parents to
Dexterville where he received his elementary education and was graduated from
high school at Pittsville.
In 1906 he came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.),
spending the remaining 59 years of his life here as a painter and decorator. He
was a charter member of the fire department and also belonged to the Modern
Woodmen of America and the Knights of Pythias Lodge. Old timers will remember
that he created quite a stir many years ago when he came out with the first
motor boat seen in Owen.
On Aug. 18, 1923 he was united in marriage to
the former Viola Anderson in a ceremony performed at Duluth, Minn. She mourns
his passing away on Feb. 10 at his home after a long illness, as do two
daughters, Mrs. Harris (Ocy) Newman of Marshfield and Mrs. Edmond (Mary Ellen)
Oniszcuk of West Allis.
