Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Blaasch attended the funeral of her uncle, Joseph Arends, November 22, at
Campbellsport. Burial was made in a Kewaskum cemetery.
Mr. Arends was
killed in a traffic accident near Campbellsport on November 17. He is survived
by a brother, Edward Arends, a former Greenwood resident, who flew in with his
son, Lyle, from Portland, Or., for the funeral.
Edward and Lyle Arends
accompanied the Blaasch’s to Greenwood and spent a week here, returning to
Portland, Or., last Saturday.
The United Youth Fellowship met Sunday
evening in the Immanuel United Church of Christ schoolhouse. Election of
officers was held as follows: Margaret Fravert, president; Bruce Horn, vice
president; Betty Fravert, secretary; Terrence Nirva, treasurer; Linda Meinhardt,
reporter.
It was voted to have a toboggan party at Perkinstown at the
first available date. The next meeting will be held December 12. Hosts will be
Bruce Horn and Janice and Joyce Henaman.
The Rev. Norbert Jollivette and
son, Mark, of Jewell, Ia., spent Monday night with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Jollivette, and with his brother, Dale Jolivette and family.
Mrs.
Katherine Lindner left Friday to visit relatives in Milwaukee.
Mr. and
Mrs. Dale Syth and family of Eau Claire spent Saturday with his mother, Mrs.
Robert Genett and family.
The Women’s Guild Christmas party at the Zion
United Church of Christ will be held this (Thursday) afternoon. Each member is
asked to bring a guest. The program is in charge of Mrs. Theodore Abel, Mrs.
Phillip Vollrath and Mrs. Quinton Irvine. There will be a cash donation for the
Winnebago Children’s home Christmas fund. A potluck lunch will be served.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz and Mrs.
Amelia Mattausch for Neillsville, Mrs. Gust Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Humke and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Richmond and family and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn
and family were guests Sunday at the home of Mrs. Guy Richmond in honor of her
birthday.
Mr and Mrs. Harlan Brux and family spent the Thanksgiving
holiday in Madison at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
John Horton. They were joined there by another daughter, Miss Janet Brux of
Milwaukee.
Thomas Susa, who attends school in Milwaukee, came to attend
the funeral of his grandfather, Joseph Susa, and spent the week with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Susa.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie were weekend
visitors at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Voie,
in Fond du Lac.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Horn and son, Gary, returned to La
Crosse after spending Wednesday and Thursday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Hubert Horn.
