Drummond, Ida Louise #3 (16 MAR 1872 – 04 MAR 1942)

Ida Louise Williams, daughter of John and Alice Williams, was born at Necedah, March 16, 1872, the eldest of 14 children. On January 8, 1890 she was united in marriage to John Drummond at Necedah and to this union was born a daughter and a son. They resided at Necedah, where Mr. Drummond operated a store, until coming to Greenwood 42 years ago.

In the fall of 1900 they moved to Greenwood where Mr. Drummond was affiliated with the Foster Mercantile Company, now known as the Farmer Store Company. Later he operated a grocery store where the Clayton store is now being operated.

On December 7, 1940 Mrs. Drummond suffered a second stroke, from which time she has been an invalid passing away on Wednesday, March 4, 1942 at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Drummond was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter and was the first worthy matron of this chapter. She was also a member of the Methodist Church and Ladies Aid.

On January 8, 1942 they celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter Mrs. John (Vera) Wuethrich, of Greenwood, one son Emil of Minneapolis, Minn., four grandchildren, John and Allen Wuethrich of Greenwood, Robert and Patricia Drummond of Minneapolis, two great grandchildren, Devere Wuethrich and Mary Jo Drummond, three sisters, Florence Williams of Lake Forest, Ill., Allie Williams, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. E.L. Hindes (Una Mae) Minong, Wis., six brothers; Emil of Portland, Ore.; John T., Santa Cruz, Calif.; Frank, Waukesha; Antis E. Sparta; Robert, Necedah; Lute G., Chicago and a host of other relatives.
Mrs. Drummond was a loving wife, devoted mother and a faithful and true friend and the esteem in which she was held was shown by the many beautiful floral offerings.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, Marcy 7 at 1:30 from the home and at 2:00 o’clock from the Methodist Church with Rev. A.J. Abbott officiating assisted by Rev. D.R. Gaylord of Stanley. Mrs. Chal Perkins and Mrs. George Haeuser sang “Jesus Lover of My Soul” “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Till We Meet Again” accompanied by Mrs. John Meng on the piano. Mrs. Drummond was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery where an Eastern Star service was conducted.

The pallbearers were Russell Weaver, Herbert Schwarze, Robert Williams, a nephew and three grandsons, John D. Wuethrich, Allen Wuethrich and Robert Drummond.

The flower girls were Mrs. Caroline Volk, Mrs. John D. Wuethrich, Mrs. Allen Wuethrich, Miss Florence Friske, Miss Naomi Emberson and Mrs. Russell Weaver.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Miss Florence Williams, Lake Forrest, Ill.; Miss Allie Williams, Lute G. Williams and son Robert, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Hindes and daughter Betty Jane, Minong; Mr. and Mrs. Art Long, Stanley; Mrs. Otto Anderson, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Weaver and Mrs. Henry Linneman, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Hartson, Mr. and Mrs. James Young and Mr. and Mrs. R.S. Horswill, Neillsville; Rev. and Mrs. C.R. Gaylord, Stanley.
