Sparks, Sharon A. (Marriage - 16 October 1971)

St. Albert’s Catholic Church, Land O’Lakes, was the scene Saturday afternoon, October 16, of the marriage of Miss Sharon A. Sparks and Ronald Larry Franz. The nuptial mass was concelebrated by Fr. Macholonis Pius and Fr. Joseph Kleinheinz. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sparks and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Franz, both of Land O’Lakes.

The bride was attired in a lace-bodice, high-neckline gown styled with long sleeves and a softly gathered skirt. Her cathedral length veil was edged with lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and coral roses accented by green lemon leaves as she was given in marriage by her father.

Miss Diane Sparks, Land O’Lakes, the bride’s sister, was her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Judith Rawlins, Milwaukee, friend of the bride, and Miss Denise Federer, Land O’Lakes, cousin of the bride. Two cousins of the bride, Miss Sue Federer and Miss Jaynee Feishe, both of Land O’Lakes, were junior bridesmaids. Another cousin, Miss Leanne Karwick, Milwaukee, was the flowergirl.

The bridesmaids and flower girl wore A-line gowns of orange georgette over taffeta styled with self-ruffled necklines and long sleeves and accented by floral neckline and waist trim. Orange floor length veils and bouquets of orange mums with yellow starbursts completed their ensembles.

The junior bridesmaids’ gowns were fashioned with long-sleeved mortar bodices and gathered skirts of brown georgette accented by brown satin cummerbunds and contrasting lace trim. They also wore floor length veils, and carried large orange-tipped mums.

Floyd Franz, Land O’Lakes, served his brother as bestman. Groomsmen were James Kassein, Boulder Junction, a friend of the groom and Roger Bolf, Greenwood, cousin of the groom. Guests were seated by Jerry Sparks, brother of the bride and Dennis Bolf, cousin of the groom.

“Ave Maria” “On this Day” and “Panis Angelicus,” was sung by the choir, of St. Albert’s.

A buffet dinner was served at the Tia Juna Club, Land O’Lakes, immediately after the ceremony. Music for the evening of dancing was played by the Junior Ludwig Trio.

The bride, a 1966 graduate of Eagle River High School, has been employed in Eagle River. The groom, who graduated from Greenwood High School in 1964, is employed as a carpenter in Phelps.

Following a wedding trip to Nashville, Tn. the newlyweds will live in Land O’Lakes.

Relatives and friends from Greenwood, Neillsville, Milwaukee, Three Lakes, Kiel, Green Bay, Eagle River, Boulder Junction, Watersmeet, Mich., as well as from the local area, attended the wedding.
