Flynn, Michael “Mike” (7 August
1948 - 8 February 2014)
Michael “Mike” Flynn, 65, of Waseca, MN, died

New Hampton, IA, to John Alvin and Gladys Irene (Hamm) Flynn. He grew up in

Music was an integral part of
Michael’s life. He learned to play guitar at a young age and made a life-long
career of writing music and performing. Being a member of over 100 bands, he
thoroughly enjoyed entertaining. Michael loved the outdoors, especially when the
sun was shining, and could often be found with a good cup of coffee sitting on
the back patio. He also enjoyed the company of family and friends, had a
wonderful sense of humor and appreciated good conversation. Other interests
include reading, woodworking, philosophy, writing poetry, watching historical
documentaries and science fiction movies, and gardening.
He is survived
by his children: Sean Flynn of Champlin, MN, Riley Flynn and special friend
Brittany Manor, Patrick Flynn, and Katherine Flynn, all of Owatonna, MN;
grandchildren, Kaitlin Flynn, Eric Flynn and soon to be born baby girl Mila; and
brother, John (Joanne) Flynn of sturgeon Lake, MN. He is also survived by his
significant other, Diane Hansen of Waseca and her children, Rachel (Michael)
Schmidt, Dillon Hansen and Tami Sorenson, Christopher Hansen, Carter Hansen and
Coral Westling; her grandchildren, Allison, Amanda and Sydney Schmidt, and
Kadynce Hansen; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and by his good neighbors and
other close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and
Gladys Flynn.
Michael will be greatly missed by all who have had the
privilege of knowing him.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 11,
2014, at 7 p.m. at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca, with
visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the
