College Notes (12 February 2014)
UW-Stevens Point honored the following area students for attaining high
grade-point averages during the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year:
Merrillan - Laura K. Wright, high honors (GPA 3.75 to 3.89); Neillsville
- Sarah Clough, honors (GPA 3.50 to 3.74); Elizabeth M. Greeler honors; MaryAnne
Hinkle, high honors; Lindsey P. Opelt, highest honors (GPA 3.90 to 4.0); Kaylene
L. Sheikh, honors; Melissa J. Strangfeld, honors; Miles J. Voss, highest honors;
Owen - Jesse L. Beck, honors; Efren M. RiosTodakee, honors.
Krunal
Patel, an electrical engineering major from Abbotsford, graduated in the Dec.
14, 2013 commencement ceremony held at UW-Platteville’s Williams Fieldhouse.
The following area students were named to the UW-River Falls fall semester
dean’s list (minimum 3.5 GPA):
Abbotsford - Alyssa Schoenborn, early
childhood major; Chili - Ellen Stichert, agricultural studies major; Dorchester
- Nicolette Broeske, crop & soil science major; Christine Leiby, agricultural
business major; Loyal - Samantha Weyer, horticulture major; Owen - Rebecca
Bauer, Agricultural studies major; Kyle Karlen, animal science major; Thorp -
Miranda Czubakowski, elementary education major; Withee - Kimberly Benzschawel,
chemistry major.
Joshua Bushman of Neillsville was named to the Minnesota
State College - Southeast Technical president’s list (GPA of 3.5 or above) for
the fall 2013 semester.
Lindsey Duerr, a junior, from Granton has been
named to Concordia University’s Nebraska, fall 2013 honors list (top 25 percent
of undergraduate students completing at least 12 credit hours).
Katherine
Gokey, a reclamation, environment and conservation major from Owen, earned
academic honors for the fall 2013 semester at the UW-Platteville. Gokey made the
chancellor’s list by earning a 4.0 grade-point average during the semester.
Attainment of the chancellor’s list represents the highest academic achievement
at UW-Platteville.
