Franz, Alvina #3 (10 DEC
1871 - 21 JAN 1939)
Mrs. August Franz, residing 4 ½ miles northwest of
Greenwood passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Saturday, January
21, 1939 at 8 p.m. She was a patient at the hospital since Monday, January 16th
and had undergone an operation for cancer.
Alvina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Noah, was born December 10, 1871 in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin and came to Greenwood with her parents when two years of age.
On January 8, 1891 she was united in marriage to August Franz at the Noah home on the West Side. To this union were born five sons, Calvin of Owen, Fred, Adolph, Otto and Harold all of Sidney, Montana and two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Ana) Fravert and Mrs. Alvin (Leona) Albert both of Greenwood. Mr. Franz passed away seven years ago.
She is survived by the above named children, eight grandchildren, two brothers, August Noah of Greenwood and Simon Noah of Loyal.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 1:40 o’clock at the home
and at 2 o’clock at the West Side Reformed Church with Rev. P. H. Franzmeier
officiating. The body was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.
