Beyer, Florentine #2 (01 JUN 1860 - 21 NOV 1946)

Florentine Beyer, daughter of Herman Schwarze and Marie nee Puls was born at Shawano, Wis., on June 1, 1800.

She was married to August Beyer in Dodge County more than 60 years ago. Seven children were born to this union.

They lived on a farm 5 miles west of Greenwood until 1915. They then moved to Greenwood. Mr. Beyer passed away on March 28, 1929.

Two children also preceded Mrs. Beyer in death. A son, Herman, passed away in 1939 and a daughter, Lena, Mrs. Max Siegert of Milwaukee passed away in May of this year.

Mrs. Beyer was visiting relatives in southern Wisconsin this fall and became ill at Mayville in October, when she was taken to St. Agnes’ Hospital in Fond du Lac. She suffered a stroke two days before her death. She died at St. Agnes’ Hospital in Fond du Lac at 12:30 a.m. Friday attaining the age of 86 years.

There remain to mourn her departure five sons: Oscar of Ogden, Utah; Emil of Casper, Wyoming; Alex of Hartland, Wis.; Benno of Milwaukee and Arnold of Greenwood: Also one brother Herman Schwarze of Mayville, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Mueller of Milwaukee. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Greenwood on Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. B.M. Fresenborg officiated. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Greenwood cemetery.
The pallbearers, all relatives of the deceased were: Alfred, Arthur, Wm., Edward, August and Simon Schwarze. Mrs. Geraldine Johnson and Miss Beatrice Beyer, granddaughters, carried the flowers.

Miss Louise Keiner, Miss Martha Horn and Mrs. Henry Keiner sang “Rock of Ages” and “Sweetly Resting.” Mrs. Adolph Me;yer played the organ.

Those who attended the funeral were Emil Beyer of Casper Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Beyer of Hartland, Wis.; Benno Beyer and daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Johnson and Miss Beatrice Beyer, Arnold and Otto Siegert, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwarze, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Roberson and Mrs. Victor Schwarze of Horican.
