Horn, Emma Tanner #3 (23 JUN 1882 - 25 JUN
1947)
Mrs. Wm. Horn, nee Emma Tanner, daughter of the late Godfried and
Barbara (Hupler) Tanner, was born in Solothurn, Switzerland on June 23, 1882 and
came with her sister Louisa to America in 1905 and resided at New Glarus, Wis.
On December 25, 1907 she was united in marriage to Herman Erzinger at New Glarus. To this union was born one son, Rudolph. Mr. Erzinger passed away in 1909.
In 1910 she came to Greenwood to be with her brothers Rudolph and Godfried. On
December 16, 1917 she was united in marriage to Wm. Horn. They resided northwest
of Greenwood until 1944 when they moved to this city.
Mrs. Horn and her
husband had been in Marshfield, Wednesday afternoon to make arrangements for an
eye operation for the former on Monday and she had been lying down to rest
before eating supper. She passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 25, 1947 from
a heart attack. She had been in ill health for some time.
She is survived by her husband, one son Rudolph, of Lena, Ill., three brothers, Rudolph and Godfried of Greenwood and Otto of Switzerland; and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Ziltner of Brodhead, Wis.; Mrs. Steiner and the Misses Ida and Sophie Tanner of Switzerland.
Funeral services were held at Zion Reformed Church on Sunday afternoon, June 29,
Rev. B.M. Fresenborg officiated. She was laid to rest in the Braun Settlement
Cemetery.
