John
Samuel Wuethrich, 65, one of Clark County’s well known and leading citizens,
passed away at his home here on Tuesday afternoon, October 12, 1948. Mr.
Wuethrich has been in poor health for the past few years, and although his death
doesn’t come as a shock, he will be sadly missed by a great host of friends and
relatives. All of Clark County experiences a loss with the death of John
Wuethrich.
John Samuel Wuethrich was born June 10t , 1883 in canton Bern, Switzerland, the third son of Samuel and Katherine Romseir Wuethrich. He came to America in March, 1893 and settled in Dodge County, Wisconsin until 1904 when he came to Greenwood and made butter for Carl Grasshorn in what is now the Armour and Co. Cheese house. From here he went to Doylestown and started a creamery in company with his brothers Alfred and Fred Wuethrich, but again returned to the Town of Eaton and started a creamery of his own.
On June 10th, 1909 at Greenwood, he was married to Vera Alice Drummond by the
Rev. Wm. Norton of the Methodist church.
